Daily Brewing

Dripper Selection: V60 dripper, Kalita wave, and KONO are all suitable.

Parameters: 15g coffee grounds, water temperature 90°C, grind size 3.5, water-to-coffee ratio close to 1:15, total time around 2:00.

Technique: Bloom with 25-30g water for 30 seconds. First pour to 120g, then stop. Use vertical water flow with slow, small circular motions. Second pour to 225g, with slightly faster water flow and circular speed to reduce fine particles from clogging the dripper and causing over-extraction.

Other Brewing Recommendations

French Press: Grind size 3.5-4, water temperature 90°C.

Siphon: Grind size 4, water temperature 89°C.

AeroPress: Grind size 2.5, water temperature 88°C.

What is FrontStreet Coffee's Blue Mountain Flavor Coffee?

The so-called "Blue Mountain Blend" actually has no connection to genuine Blue Mountain coffee. This situation arose because early Blue Mountain coffee was rare and expensive. Operators created blends using mixed beans and dark roasting to mimic Blue Mountain's flavor profile. Therefore, conscientious merchants in domestic and international markets will inform customers that these are Blue Mountain-style, blended Blue Mountain, or Blue Mountain-flavored coffee beans—not genuine Blue Mountain coffee.

True Blue Mountain and Blue Mountain flavor are two different concepts. Generally, other coffee varieties are roasted to imitate the taste profile of Blue Mountain coffee. The beans in "Blue Mountain Blend" are mixed, with considerable variation in shape, making them relatively easy to identify. Don't believe in "premium Blue Mountain" costing tens of yuan per pound or "Blue Mountain coffee" selling for just over ten yuan per cup.

How to Identify Authentic vs. Fake Blue Mountain?

1. Appearance: FrontStreet Coffee's Blue Mountain green beans are blue-green in color, very uniform in appearance, medium to small in size, with slightly raised ends. After roasting, they expand significantly in volume and become very full.

2. Grinding: Genuine FrontStreet Coffee Blue Mountain beans are grown at high altitudes, giving them a relatively loose cell structure. When grinding by hand, they feel very crisp, smooth, and continuous, without any sense of resistance.

3. Aroma: The aroma is very rich and dense. Blended Blue Mountain coffee lacks this characteristic aroma.

4. Taste: Genuine FrontStreet Coffee Blue Mountain has a balanced and rich flavor profile, without any single taste being overpowering or lacking. This is the key identification point that no other coffee bean can match. Blue Mountain peaberries have a more subtle aroma but relatively stronger taste.

Not all products labeled "Blue Mountain" are genuine Blue Mountain. Hope this helps everyone distinguish authentic from fake~
