Ethiopian coffee accounts for 5% of the global market share, making it the world's fifth-largest coffee-producing country. The well-known Arabica coffee species originated here, and Ethiopia also possesses the most diverse coffee varieties. There are so many native varieties that they're countless – it's estimated that there are still six to seven thousand unknown coffee varieties hidden there!

Ethiopia itself has many high mountains that are tropical cloud forests. Coffee is mainly grown on the highlands. The rainforests are dominated by tall trees, and coffee trees use these trees as canopies, with fallen leaves serving as protective root nutrients, enjoying an excellent growing environment. The high-altitude areas have lower temperatures, which means fewer pests and less need for pesticides, and slower ripening speeds, allowing coffee trees more time to absorb nutrients.

Ethiopian coffee mainly has eight major producing regions: Ekempti, Limu, Illubabor, Djimma, Harrar, Teppi/Bebeka, Sidamo, and Yirgacheffe. Ethiopian coffee is highly regarded in China, especially with Chinese people showing particular interest and love for the three relatively famous producing regions: Harrar, Sidamo, and Yirgacheffe. The Sidama province is located in southern Ethiopia, with Arsi province to the north, extending eastward to connect with Bale province, and Gamu Gofa province administrative region to the west. The Sidama province administrative region includes two extremely famous producing areas: Yirgacheffe and Kochere. The industry is primarily agricultural, with coffee growing areas located around the Great Rift Valley.

HARRAR

This region consists of small towns surrounding Harrar and is the oldest production area. The coffee in this region is extremely special, not growing in an environment that requires additional irrigation. Harrar has long enjoyed an extremely high reputation. Although the natural processing method can adjust the original turbid, woody earthy flavors to bright blueberry notes, the coffee beans are so special and memorable that they have opened the eyes of those who have worked in this coffee industry due to the diversity of bean flavors.

Harrar Producing Region

Most Ethiopian coffee is produced in the western and southern regions, while Harrar is one of the few coffees produced in the eastern region. The climate in this area is mainly hot and dry desert-type climate, which also makes the coffee flavor produced here quite unique. The Arabica coffee species produced here belongs to one of the world's oldest coffee varieties, mainly grown on its eastern highlands. After washing processing and natural drying, farmers then manually select the best quality green beans for sale.
