Introduction to Colombia Coffee Growing Regions

Colombia is the world's second-largest coffee exporter, primarily producing Arabica coffee with mainly washed processing methods. The flavor quality is excellent and well-balanced. Located in the northwestern corner of South America, it serves as a port gateway between the Pacific and Atlantic oceans. The Andes Mountains run through the country from south to north, providing diverse ecological environments at elevations ranging from 1,200 to 2,000 meters.

Due to its latitudinal span, Colombia has two harvesting seasons throughout the year. The main harvest season runs from October to January, while the secondary harvest season is from April to July. The commercial coffee-producing regions MAM consist of Medellín (Antioquia), Armenia, and Manizales (Caldas) in the right-side Andes Mountains. The specialty coffee-producing regions are located in southern Colombia, mainly including Cauca, Huila, Tolima, and Nariño.
