Finca Filadelfia: The Cupula Estate
Finca Filadelfia, also known as La Cupula Estate, derives its name from the Spanish term "La Cupula," which refers to the highest, dome-shaped part of traditional Spanish architecture. This name signifies that the estate is situated in the highest-altitude region of the entire Antigua growing area, with elevations ranging from 1,650 to 2,100 meters above sea level.
Four Generations of Coffee Excellence
The current estate owner, Mr. Roberto Dalton, represents the fourth generation of his family to steward this plantation. His great-grandfather, Mr. Manuel Matheu Sinibaldi, established the estate through tireless effort back in 1869-1870. Through four generations of inheritance, the family has maintained the same passion and tradition for producing high-quality coffee.
Prestigious Recognition
In 2001, when the Cup of Excellence competition was first held in Guatemala, this estate boldly claimed second place.
Exceptional Terroir
This region's most renowned feature is its outstanding natural environment, surrounded by three volcanoes: Volcan Fuego (Fire Volcano), Volcan Agua (Water Volcano), and Volcan Acatenango. Notably, Volcan Fuego is one of only three active volcanoes remaining in Guatemala, still showing periodic eruption activity. The volcanic ash it releases continuously replenishes the region's fertile soil, creating an exceptionally advantaged growing area.
