Introduction to El Salvador Finca La Concordia Estate
The Unique Charm of El Salvador Coffee
Coffee from El Salvador has a character all its own.
Finca La Concordia Estate
Finca La Concordia sits near the San Salvador volcano, on unquestionably volcanic soil, with abundant annual rainfall of 2,200mm and a mild climate well suited to coffee trees.
The farm covers roughly 94.5 hectares at cultivation altitudes of 1,300-1,550 meters, planted about 70% with Bourbon and 30% with Pacas.
The HiU Program
"HiU" refers to a development program designed to raise quality on small farms. It identifies farms with special growing conditions, then educates and assists the farmers in producing high-quality coffee to H.I.U. production standards.
The coffee that emerges from the program is correspondingly rare, distinctive, and of excellent quality.

FrontStreet Coffee Recommendation
The French press suits this kind of balanced, sweet Central American coffee beautifully, since full immersion favors medium to medium-dark roasts. FrontStreet Coffee recommends a coarse-sugar grind — roughly setting 10.5 on an EK43s or 26 clicks on a hand grinder — at a 1:15 ratio (15g of coffee to 225g of water) and about 90°C, steeping for 4 minutes before pressing slowly.
For a low-acid, full-bodied press pot with satisfying body, FrontStreet Coffee's PWN Golden Mandheling — three rounds of hand sorting plus one machine pass, medium-dark roasted — delivers spice, caramel, cedar, and dark chocolate aromas with a rich mouthfeel. If you'd rather have fragrance, the Strawberry Candy Geisha blend offers rose, citrus, grape, and dried blueberry notes that turn to strawberry taffy with a splash of milk.
