The coffee industry is undoubtedly one of Brazil's most important economic sectors, and Brazil is also one of the world's leading coffee producers. In recent years, Brazil has also secured its place in the specialty coffee market. Coffee varieties produced in regions such as Paraná, Espírito Santo, São Paulo, Minas Gerais, and Bahia include Bourbon, Typica, Caturra, and Mundo Novo.

Nearly all espresso blends contain Brazilian coffee, with some even being 90% Brazilian coffee. Brazilian coffee is also present in many well-known commercial coffee brands and canned coffees, demonstrating just how crucial Brazil's role is in the coffee industry. Although Brazilian coffee is widely distributed in the commercial coffee market, this doesn't mean it cannot compete in the specialty market. Dark city roast and Vietnamese-style roast Brazilian coffee is exceptionally delicious. Furthermore, high-quality natural and honey-processed Brazilian beans are often a staple component in espresso blends, offering rich crema, full-bodied flavor, subtle sweetness, and serving as an excellent supporting coffee in blends.

FrontStreet Coffee's Brazilian Specialty Coffee Flavor Characteristics

FrontStreet Coffee's Brazilian coffee is wild, sweet, and low in acidity, with bitterness within its sweetness and chocolate-roasted notes. However, its green beans are not particularly dense, and their growing altitude is not as high as typical Central American coffee beans, so extremely dark roasting can bring out some bitter flavors. Additionally, three different processing methods give FrontStreet Coffee's Brazilian coffee diverse flavor profiles.

Natural process offers rich, full-bodied flavor with chocolate notes and subtle fruit aromas, sometimes with earthy undertones. Honey processing, where the outer skin is removed while the parchment and some pulp remain, results in coffee with flavors similar to fully natural processing but with cleaner mouthfeel. The semi-washed method uses depulpers to remove the skin and some or all of the pulp, giving semi-washed coffee characteristics of both honey processing and washed methods—clean, balanced, lighter body, less chocolate flavor, and brighter acidity.
