Brazil Fazenda Rainha Yellow Bourbon coffee beans

FrontStreet Coffee's Brazilian coffee from the Mogiana region features the COE champion farm Fazenda Rainha, using 100% Yellow Bourbon processed through the pulped natural method.

Flavor Description

The green beans carry subtle orange peel and spice aromas. When ground, they release rich scents of roasted hazelnuts, cinnamon, and the sweet aroma of pumpkin pie. On entry, delicate lemon acidity, plum, guava, and the fresh sweetness of sugarcane juice emerge. The mid-palate reveals flavors reminiscent of freshly opened vanilla pods, black tea, and unsalted butter. The overall flavor profile combines complexity with a persistent aftertaste and a smooth, delicate, consistent mouthfeel.

The Carvalho Dias family, founding members of the Brazilian Specialty Coffee Association, has been operating Fazenda Rainha since 1890. The farm owner's nephew, Gabriel de Carvalho Dias, is now responsible for its management and operations.

The farm is located near Minas Gerais, with high altitude and rugged terrain. Due to geographical limitations, mechanical cultivation and harvesting are impossible, so coffee planting and picking are conducted entirely by hand.

Situated at altitudes between 1,100 and 1,500 meters, with average annual rainfall of 1,800 to 2,000 millimeters and an average annual temperature of around 19°C, these conditions are ideal for coffee cultivation, resulting in solid green bean quality and excellent flavor expression.

By carefully controlling every operational process from planting, care, and harvesting to post-processing, Fazenda Rainha invests its full efforts into producing high-quality green coffee beans.

Under the management of Regina Helena Mello de Carvalho Dias and family members, the farm maintains excellent quality and unique flavor characteristics, making it a consistent winner in Brazil's COE cupping competitions. The farm ranked on the list in 2000, 2001, and 2005, and in 2011 achieved the prestigious honor of becoming the Brazilian COE champion.
