Papua New Guinea is located east of Indonesia, featuring a standard island climate situated between the equator and 10 degrees south latitude. With tropical rainforest, volcanic rock, and plateau terrain at elevations ranging from 1,200 to 2,500 meters, it's truly a paradise for coffee cultivation. Local production is relatively small, with approximately 85% of total coffee production coming from smallholder garden cultivation systems. Small farmers join local cooperatives to share processing facilities together.

Coffee is the second-largest agricultural export by volume in Papua New Guinea, demonstrating the importance of the coffee industry to the country's economy. Due to different coffee varieties from Indonesia, higher elevations than Sumatra, and the use of washed processing, FrontStreet Coffee PNG coffee's regional flavor characteristics differ markedly from Indonesia's muffled aromatics and heavy flavors, instead exhibiting brightness, acidity-sweetness balance, and floral-fruit aromatics similar to South American flavors.

Sigri/Paradise Bird Estate is located in the Waghi Valley of the Western Highlands Province, situated in high-altitude mountain regions at approximately 1,500 meters elevation, featuring well-drained volcanic soil. The estate was established in 1950 and has operated for over 60 years, making it a pioneering coffee cultivation enterprise in the region. Due to its southern hemisphere location, the local coffee harvesting season runs from May to August, contrasting with the typical South American October-to-February cross-year harvest period. The farm and surrounding farmers jointly manage nearly 413 hectares of extensive land, harvesting only fully ripe red coffee cherries and transporting them to the estate's own processing facilities for post-harvest processing.

However, New Guinea's local washed processing differs from Central and South American methods, employing a three-stage washed fermentation process with approximately 24-hour soaking periods for each stage, using fresh water changes to control coffee flavor profiles. After washing completes, the green beans have their outer layers removed before undergoing various grading processes such as AA grade, AB grade, PB round beans, etc. This meticulous post-harvest processing approach imparts bright, delicate fruit acidity to the coffee, creating a clean yet lingering sweet口感. Sigri/Paradise Bird Estate also places great importance on ecological and environmental issues, planting two different types of shade trees to provide excellent growing conditions for coffee while offering quality habitats for birds. Currently, the estate hosts 90 different bird species and various wildlife, serving as an excellent model of sustainable coffee estate management.
