Brazil HiU Micro Lot

The HiU program is a plan to improve coffee quality in Central and South America, proposed by Mr. Graciano Cruz from Panama, a renowned figure in honey processing.

The program focuses on micro lots processed using natural or honey processing methods, with final cupping scores exceeding 85 points to earn the HiU seal. This creates a win-win situation for both estate owners and processors.

Flavor Profile

Orange, nuts, brown rice tea, peanut

Brazil offers a wide variety of coffee types, but its industrial policy focuses on mass production at low costs, so truly premium specialty coffees are not as common. However, Brazilian coffee serves as an excellent choice for blending with other coffees.

Brazilian coffee features lower acidity combined with the coffee's natural bitterness, creating an extremely smooth mouthfeel with subtle grassy aromas. It's fragrant with a slight bitterness, smooth and pleasant to drink, with a refreshing aftertaste. For Brazilian coffee, there are no particularly outstanding advantages, but also no obvious flaws. This mild, smooth flavor profile with low acidity, moderate body, and subtle sweetness combines all these gentle flavors - discerning each individual note is the ultimate test for the taste buds.

In some estates in the Cerrado region of Minas Gerais state in southeastern Brazil, ancient Bourbon and Yellow Catuai varieties are cultivated. Although these coffees come from the same region, each has its own distinctive characteristics. Despite the diversity, Brazilian coffee suits popular tastes. As the largest coffee producer, various grades and types of coffee from Brazil account for one-third of global consumption, holding a significant position in the global coffee trading market. Although Brazil faces natural disasters several times more frequently than other regions, its vast cultivable area is sufficient to compensate for these challenges.
