Origin, Development, History and Culture of Authentic Jamaican Blue Mountain NO.1 Premium Coffee Beans
The production volume of Blue Mountain Coffee is extremely limited. In 1717, French King Louis XV ordered coffee cultivation in Jamaica. In the mid-1720s, Jamaica's Governor Sir Nicholas Lawes imported Arabica seeds from Martinique and began promoting cultivation in the St. Andrew region. To this day, the St. Andrew region remains one of the three major producing areas of Jamaican Blue Mountain Coffee, with the other two being the Portland and St. Thomas regions.
Flavor Profile
The flavor is rich and mellow, with a perfect balance of coffee's sweetness, acidity, and bitterness. It has no bitterness at all, only moderate and perfect acidity with a persistent fruity aftertaste.

What is Blue Mountain Coffee?
Blue Mountain Coffee refers to coffee brewed from coffee beans grown in Jamaica's Blue Mountains. It is categorized by grade into Jamaican Blue Mountain Coffee and Jamaican High Mountain Coffee. The Blue Mountain Range is located in the eastern part of Jamaica Island. When the weather is clear, the sun shines directly on the azure Caribbean Sea, and the mountain peaks reflect the brilliant blue light of the seawater, hence its name. The highest peak of Blue Mountain reaches 2256 meters, making it the highest peak in the Caribbean region. Located in the coffee belt with fertile volcanic soil, fresh air free from pollution, and a humid climate with year-round fog and rain (average precipitation of 1980mm and temperature around 27°C), these conditions have created the world-renowned Jamaican Blue Mountain Coffee, as well as the second most expensive coffee in the world.
The "Secret" Behind Blue Mountain Coffee's Pure Flavor
All their coffee trees grow on rugged mountain slopes, making the harvesting process extremely difficult. Only skilled local female workers can handle this task properly. Selecting coffee beans at just the right level of ripeness during harvest is crucial - both underripe and overripe beans affect coffee quality. After harvesting, coffee beans must be hulled the same day, then fermented for 12-18 hours. Subsequently, the coffee beans undergo washing and sorting. The next step is drying, which must be done on concrete floors or thick blankets until the coffee beans' moisture content drops to 12%-14%. They are then stored in special warehouses. When needed, they are taken out for roasting and then ground into powder. These procedures must be strictly controlled, otherwise, the coffee quality will be affected.
How to Identify Authentic Blue Mountain Coffee
1. Appearance: Blue Mountain green beans are blue-green in color, very uniform in appearance, medium to small in size, with slightly raised ends. After roasting, they increase significantly in volume and become very full.
2. Grinding: Genuine Blue Mountain coffee beans grow at high altitudes, giving them a relatively loose cytoplasmic structure. When ground by hand, they feel very crisp, smooth, and continuous, without any sense of resistance.
3. Aroma: The aroma is very rich and dense; so-called blended Blue Mountain coffee does not have this type of aroma.
4. Taste: Authentic Blue Mountain coffee has a balanced and rich flavor, with no single taste being overly prominent or lacking. This is the most critical identification point that no other coffee bean can match. Blue Mountain peaberries have a more subtle aroma and relatively stronger flavor.
5. Sensation: As the world's finest coffee with classic balanced characteristics, Blue Mountain Coffee inevitably brings a subconscious, indescribable sense of satisfaction when tasted.
