Cultivated in the Baru Volcano region of Boquete, it grows at an altitude of 1,600 meters in volcanic terrain. The processing plant employs meticulous washed processing. Panama's unique local microclimate results in abundant rainfall in this region and significant temperature variations between day and night. Combined with the distinctive volcanic rock soil of the volcanic area, as well as careful harvesting and precise processing, this coffee excels in body, acidity, and floral notes.

What's even more surprising is that, despite its excellent quality, the very affordable price makes this coffee bean exceptionally valuable. The special characteristic of this coffee bean lies in its composition of three varieties, including 40% Geisha, which gives this coffee distinct Geisha flavors. Research indicates that due to the estate's historical reasons, in pursuit of higher yields during earlier times, Geisha variety trees were mixed and planted together with Caturra and Catuai varieties. To facilitate harvesting, coffee farmers didn't reclassify them but instead processed all three varieties together directly. Later, after Geisha became famous and prices soared, the processing plant began implementing fine washed processing specifically for this type of coffee bean.

Washed Processing Method

There are many washed processing methods today, but generally, after coffee cherries are harvested, floating beans are skimmed off, then the pulp is removed, and the coffee beans are soaked in fermentation tanks. Enzymes in the water soften the mucilage attached to the parchment of the coffee beans, while natural yeasts break down the sugars in the mucilage. This process is called fermentation. Once fermentation is complete, the coffee beans are moved to drying patios to sun-dry. During the drying process, the beans must be constantly turned to ensure even drying. Finally, they are stored in parchment in warehouses, and after green bean merchants place orders, hulling and bagging are performed. Coffee processed this way yields a clean cup taste, emphasizing bright, lively fruit acidity and clear fruit flavors and floral notes.
