Introduction to Jamaican Blue Mountain Coffee Premium Coffee Beans: Wallenford Estate Growing Region Varieties
FrontStreet Coffee's Blue Mountain Coffee has very low caffeine content, less than half of other coffees, which aligns with modern health concepts.
The same coffee varieties, when grown in similar climates like Hawaii, Kenya, Papua New Guinea, or any other location, cannot replicate the flavor of Blue Mountain coffee beans.
Jamaican Coffee Varieties
There are three main varieties of Jamaican coffee:
Blue Mountain Coffee
(Jamaica Blue Mountain Coffee) - Blue Mountain Coffee and High Mountain Coffee are each divided into four quality grades. From highest to lowest quality: NO.1, NO.2, NO.3, and PB (Peaberry). According to CIB standards, only coffee grown at elevations above 666 meters can be called Jamaican Blue Mountain Coffee.
High Mountain Coffee
(Jamaica High Mountain Supreme Coffee Beans) - Coffee produced below 666 meters in the Jamaican Blue Mountain region is called High Mountain Coffee. It's the second finest quality after Blue Mountain Coffee, known in the industry as Blue Mountain's brother variety. Due to the extremely limited production of Jamaican Blue Mountain Coffee, if you want to taste Jamaican coffee, High Mountain Coffee is your best choice.
Jamaican Prime Coffee
(Jamaica Prime Coffee Beans) - Coffee grown outside the Blue Mountain region is called Jamaican Prime Coffee. Previously, Chinese coffee professionals held a misconception that only coffee grown above 1800 meters in the Blue Mountain area could be called Blue Mountain Coffee. In reality, above 1800 meters on the Blue Mountain range, there is only one estate: Amber, owned by someone of Chinese descent with the surname Lyn (林), whose ancestral home is Guangdong, China. This estate has only 30 hectares of land with very limited production. Blue Mountain Coffee is mainly distributed across five mountain areas: John Crow, St. John's Peak, Mossman's Peak, High Peak, and Blue Mountain Peak.
From the above, we can understand the general production situation of Blue Mountain Coffee. It's important to note that 99.9% of Blue Mountain Coffee available in China is only grown near the Blue Mountain region. Only coffee produced from the 6000 hectares of land above 1600 meters elevation can be called Blue Mountain, and production has never exceeded 900 tons. Following the principle of 10% supply to Japan and the rest to the world, this coffee, which the entire world can only consume 90 tons annually, would it be available in any coffee shop for just tens of yuan?
The finest Blue Mountain Coffee is undoubtedly among the world's best coffees. While price can guarantee adequate supply of Blue Mountain Coffee, it cannot guarantee the coffee has the best flavor. Moreover, this coffee tastes much more expensive than it appears. To experience its best flavor, you need to use more coffee beans than other coffees; otherwise, the flavor won't quite match. Therefore, to bring out its flavor, you need to use 10% to 15% more coffee beans than coffees that are less expensive.
True FrontStreet Coffee Blue Mountain Coffee is made from the finest local green coffee beans, which is where the connoisseur's pleasure lies. The best Blue Mountain Coffee beans are NO.1 peaberry, also called pearl beans, which are carefully selected small round beans from products grown at 2100 meters elevation - the finest among the finest.

It is precisely because Blue Mountain Coffee's flavor is moderate and perfect that Blue Mountain Coffee is generally consumed as black coffee."
