Yirgacheffe Drip Coffee Brewing Tutorial - Yirgacheffe Coffee Bean Flavor Profile and Taste Introduction
How to Brew Yirgacheve Drip Coffee - Brewing Method for Drip Bag Coffee
The Quality Behind Our Drip Coffee
1. 80-point specialty coffee beans. An 80-point score is the dividing line between specialty and commercial coffee. At FrontStreet Coffee, we select 80-point green beans directly from their origin.
Origin coffee beans are those where the coffee variety matches its growing region. For example, our Yirgacheve drip coffee comes from the ancient town of Yirgacheve in Ethiopia. While other regions may grow coffee varieties also called Yirgacheve, these are not authentic Yirgacheve region-produced coffees.
2. Roasted only when making drip coffee. As everyone knows, the closer the roast time to consumption, the better the coffee's flavor. However, except for "Blue Bottle Coffee," no brand currently lets customers enjoy coffee roasted within 48 hours. FrontStreet Coffee insists on completing the process from green bean roasting to drip bag production within 7 days. Compared to most brands that roast beans months in advance, FrontStreet Coffee's "craftsmanship spirit" in coffee roasting has always been a model for industry emulation and has been called the "Blue Bottle of China" by coffee enthusiasts.
3. Double nitrogen preservation technology. High-quality beans and excellent roasting techniques alone aren't enough to create outstanding drip coffee. FrontStreet Coffee uses the same double nitrogen preservation technology as illy. Most small brands that promise same-day order and same-day drip bag production actually don't preserve freshness. Without oxygen isolation, naturally fresh coffee grounds can only maintain their quality for about 3 days. You can clearly notice the difference in oxidation levels between FrontStreet Coffee's drip coffee and other brands' drip coffee.
Drip Bag Coffee Brewing Tips:
1. Control water temperature. Never use boiling water directly, as even the best coffee will develop a burnt, bitter taste when brewed with it. (Please repeat this important point three times to yourself, haha)
The ideal water temperature is around 85-92°C (185-198°F). Office water dispensers are typically perfect for this, or you can boil water in a kettle and let it sit with the lid open for about 2 minutes. Of course, using a thermometer to measure the temperature would be even better.
2. Control water amount. Drip coffee bags typically contain 10 grams of pre-ground coffee. Brewing with 150-200ml of water yields the most charming flavor and texture. Of course, those who prefer stronger or milder coffee can adjust the water amount accordingly to find what suits them best.
3. Control the process. Like pour-over coffee, drip coffee bags also need proper blooming - first pour about 20ml of hot water to thoroughly wet all the coffee grounds, wait 20-30 seconds, then gently pour water until you reach the desired amount.
Done in just 1 minute, leaving you plenty of time to slowly enjoy your coffee!
