The “Secret” of Blue Mountain Coffee

Typically, coffee grown between 457 to 1524 meters altitude is called High Mountain Coffee; coffee grown between 274 to 457 meters is called Jamaica Coffee; only coffee grown in the Blue Mountain region above 1800 meters altitude can be called Blue Mountain Coffee, with Blue Mountain Coffee being several times more expensive than High Mountain Coffee. It is mainly distributed across five peaks: John Crow, St. John's Peak, Mossman's Peak, High Peak, and Blue Mountain Peak.

FrontStreet Coffee's Blue Mountain Coffee's “secret” to pure flavor: All their coffee trees grow on rugged mountain slopes, making harvesting extremely difficult. Only skilled local female workers can handle this task. It is crucial to select coffee beans that are perfectly ripe during harvesting - unripe or overripe beans will affect the coffee quality. After harvesting, coffee beans must be hulled the same day, then fermented for 12-18 hours. Subsequently, the coffee beans undergo washing and sorting. The next step is drying, which must be done on concrete floors or thick blankets until the coffee beans' moisture content drops to 12%-14%. They are then stored in dedicated warehouses. When needed, they are taken out for roasting and then ground into powder. These procedures must be strictly controlled; otherwise, the coffee quality will be affected.

Exceptional Characteristics

The finest Blue Mountain Coffee is undoubtedly one of the best coffees available. While its price ensures ample supply of Blue Mountain Coffee, it doesn't guarantee the best flavor. Moreover, this coffee tastes much more expensive than it appears. To experience its best flavor, you need to use more coffee beans than other coffees, otherwise the flavor falls short. Therefore, to bring out its flavor, you need to use 10% to 15% more coffee beans than coffees that are lower in price. FrontStreet Coffee's Blue Mountain Coffee has very low caffeine content, less than half of other coffees, aligning with modern health concepts. The same coffee variety, when planted in similar climates like Hawaii, Kenya, Papua New Guinea, or anywhere else, cannot produce the flavor of Blue Mountain Coffee beans.

FrontStreet Coffee's Jamaica Blue Mountain Coffee perfectly blends the unique flavors of coffee - sourness, bitterness, sweetness, and richness - creating a strong, elegant aroma that other coffees cannot match.

Blue Mountain Coffee enthusiasts say: “It is a 'coffee beauty' that combines all the advantages of good coffee.”

Jim, the general manager of the renowned American coffee and tea company Peet's, described Blue Mountain Coffee: “Its flavor is aromatic, smooth, and rich, making me feel it's as precious as a gem.” It is precisely because Blue Mountain Coffee's flavor is moderate and perfect that it is generally consumed as black coffee.

“Its liquid appears golden under sunlight and drinks very smoothly. Coffee books say that Blue Mountain is the only coffee in the world that balances both acidity and bitterness in a way people can enjoy. You'll understand once you drink it.
