Step-by-Step Guide: How to Make Cold Brew Coffee
It's Here! The Highly Anticipated Cold Brew Coffee Method!
Cold brew coffee, cherished for its naturally sweet and fermented flavor profile yet often met with hesitation due to its premium price point—now you can make it yourself! The method is incredibly simple! Let's dive straight into our step-by-step visual guide!
Step 1: Prepare Your Container
First, prepare a cold brew bottle. If you don't have one, no worries! Any sealed container will work as a substitute! If you don't have a cold brew bottle or a sealed container, that's still no problem! Simply use any glass and cover it with plastic wrap!
Step 2: Select and Grind Your Coffee Beans
Choose a single-origin coffee bean that you like and grind it. (For this recipe, FrontStreet Coffee uses 50g of Mozart from Costa Rica, ground with an EK43s grinder at a cold brew setting of 9 marks. Please adjust according to your equipment and the condition of your beans on the day!)
Step 3: Combine Coffee and Water
Pour the ground coffee into the built-in filter of your cold brew maker and add room temperature purified water. (We're using a 1:12 ratio here—that's 50g of coffee to 600ml of water. You can adjust this based on your preferred concentration. Make sure the water level is high enough to immerse all the coffee grounds.)
Step 4: Cold Brew for 8 Hours
Tighten the lid and place it in the refrigerator for 8 hours. (Important note: Refrigerate, don't freeze!)
Step 5: Filter the Cold Brew
After 8 hours, remove the coffee from the refrigerator and filter it to ensure a cleaner taste.
Step 6: Final Filtering and Serving
After filtering through paper filters, it's ready to drink! Add ice cubes for an even better taste~
