Andy Lau's Shocking Coffee Habit: 20+ Cups Daily!
Recently, Andy Lau discussed his impressive coffee consumption with Guo Fan (director of "The Wandering Earth") on a talk show, shocking all the guests present!
When the host asked what changes Guo Fan had while filming the sequel, Wu Jing said the only thing that remained unchanged was his massive coffee consumption... Then! Andy's competitive spirit kicked in, and he asked Guo Fan, "Who drinks more coffee, you or me?"
Guo Fan: "5-6 cups a day."
Andy: "I now drink over 20 cups..." Then he gestured with his hands to show the size of a coffee cup ⬇️

Although some studies suggest that substances in coffee like niacin, free fatty acids, caffeine, tannic acid, and polyphenols can accelerate skin metabolism, achieve antioxidant effects, and have skin-firming effects, this doesn't mean that drinking large amounts of coffee daily will definitely produce these effects!! You need to consider what type of coffee you drink, your daily intake, your skin condition, and whether you get enough rest!
Is it possible that Andy Lau drinks 20+ cups of coffee? It's possible, but this doesn't mean we should all drink coffee this way. Judging by the size of the coffee cup he gestured, this would be excessive for an ordinary person!!!

Regardless of cup size, drinking coffee in the quantity that Andy does is not a healthy practice. Setting aside individual special circumstances, from a physiological perspective, prolonged heavy workload, work stress, and irregular rest can cause the body to produce large amounts of adenosine. When this binds to receptors, it causes fatigue and sleepiness. If you continue to consume large amounts of caffeine under these conditions, it can lead to:

Of course, consuming caffeine at this time can prevent adenosine from binding to receptors, but it also stimulates the production of more adenosine, which then participates in the body's neural and endocrine regulation by inhibiting various neurotransmitters, causing the previously inhibited neurotransmitters to be released in large quantities.

When adrenaline surges, it can cause rapid breathing, accelerated heartbeat and blood flow, and increased oxygen consumption. Some people may feel oxygen-deprived, and in severe cases, may even faint or lose consciousness.
Excessive Caffeine Increases Liver Metabolic Burden
Small amounts of caffeine intake can reduce liver fibrosis during the process of caffeine binding to adenosine receptors, which has certain benefits for liver health. However, excessive intake increases the metabolic burden on the liver, thereby damaging liver function. This is especially harmful for people with pre-existing liver conditions.
The Final Word on Coffee Consumption
Although many modern medical studies show that coffee can be beneficial to health, these benefits are based on moderate consumption of black coffee (without sugar, milk, or any flavorings). We're not debating whether Andy really drinks 20+ cups of coffee, but based on practical observation, most people (no matter how much they can tolerate) generally start feeling dizzy and heart palpitations after about 4-5 cups (200ml/cup) per day. Therefore, just because some people can drink a lot doesn't mean everyone can!
While coffee is good, it's best not to overdo it!
