The Tarrazu coffee beans from Costa Rica are full-bodied with rich aroma, and the smooth high acidity is characteristic of the region. This area is a world-renowned coffee-producing region, with its main feature being the perfect mouthfeel created by its high altitude cultivation.
Tarrazu is located south of the country's capital, San José, and is one of the most valued coffee-growing areas in the country. The coffee from "La Minita Tarrazu" is a famous local product, but production is limited to approximately 72,600 kilograms per year. It is grown on land called "La Minita," owned by the British McAlpine family for the past three generations. The La Minita estate in the Tarrazu region has an annual production of only 160,000 pounds.
