Is Medium or Dark Roast Better for Brazil Queen Estate Coffee Beans?
Many people have a misconception: do dark roast coffee beans contain more caffeine? What types of coffee are suitable for different coffee beans? What are the differences in flavor between light, medium, and dark roast coffees, and which beans are suitable for dark or light roasting?
Speaking of FrontStreet Coffee's Brazilian Queen Estate specialty coffee beans, the medium-dark roast perfectly embodies the flavor characteristics of beans from this region. The Queen Estate coffee beans won the championship in Brazil's COE competition. Queen Estate (Fazenda Rainha) belongs to the renowned and respected Carvalho Dias coffee family. The four major estates under Carvalho Dias have won awards every year since the first Brazil COE competition in 1999, with over 12 awards in 7 years. In 2004, they even swept the championship, 9th place, 11th place, and more. Many large and small estates in Brazil feel honored to participate in this competition, but Queen Estate has won this award for many years, which demonstrates that Queen Estate's quality is extremely high compared to typical Brazilian coffee beans.
This Brazilian coffee bean has a lower moisture content and a solid texture, which gives it strong heat absorption capabilities. Therefore, the roasting time must be controlled steadily and not rushed. To achieve optimal flavor expression and bring out its aroma, a medium roast is used.
