When it comes to Starbucks, what people are most familiar with might not be its coffee or light food, but rather its cups. One could even say that Starbucks seems more like a seller of merchandise, especially cups, because Starbucks releases new cups far more frequently than new coffee varieties. Starbucks' Cat Paw Cup left a deep impression back in the day. Once released, it became an instant hit. Being a limited edition, some people even chose to set up tents outside Starbucks stores and queue overnight.

Unknown to many, Starbucks has been selling cups since 1971. However, when it comes to coffee shops that have expanded into selling cups, there's Starbucks in the West and Luckin Coffee in the East.

On June 18, a reporter from Beijing Youth Daily Community News received a report that Luckin Coffee had started selling cups in addition to making beverages. In response, the reporter visited shopping malls such as Shunyi New World and Hualian and found that Luckin Coffee stores were not selling cups; cups could only be ordered online.

As early as August 2019, Luckin Coffee's flagship store entered JD.com and launched its merchandise products nationwide. Luckin Coffee's first limited edition Antler Portable Straw Cup was released for sale, and it came with a "Meet Haoran" limited edition blind box.

The Antler Portable Straw Cup from that year also came in pink and blue color options, which looked quite interesting when paired with Luckin's antler logo.

On the first day of the cup's official sales launch, the app crashed due to overwhelming demand from buyers, and the cups sold out within a short period of time.

In 2019, approaching the Mid-Autumn Festival, inspired by the success of the Antler Cup, Luckin immediately launched a pre-sale for its "Lunar Meteorite Mug" at a pre-sale price of 93 yuan.

However, once launched, it sold out within 1 hour, and the official account even explained that the second batch would be restocked on September 26th and they would notify everyone then.

In October 2020, Luckin Coffee introduced the Luckin Cup, a portable cup designed by COPCO, a popular casual cup brand popular in Europe and America at the time.

This Luckin Cup series features a minimalist and atmospheric Instagram-style design, exuding a strong sense of fashion. It comes in various color schemes: Luckin blue, watermelon red, light blue, light pink, and more. Not only does its appearance satisfy the aesthetic preferences of many, but its practicality is also exceptional.

The cup is made of double-layer PP material, BPA-free, making it safer and more environmentally friendly. The double-layer design naturally provides excellent insulation, making it suitable for both hot and cold water. The thoughtfully designed screw-on lid ensures users don't have to worry about water spilling. Its capacity of over 300 milliliters is just right, considering that a cup of pour-over coffee typically doesn't exceed 300 milliliters.

In March 2021, Luckin Coffee launched the "Spring Cherry Blossom Season" series, even changing its logo from "business blue" to "sakura pink" to match this series and attract attention. This collection included spring drip coffee series packaging and derivative merchandise, with the sakura pink color scheme giving off a very girly vibe.

In April 2021, Luckin Coffee introduced the "Spring Cat" series merchandise. The bright yellow color scheme combined with the adorable cat theme made many people, whether they were cat owners or "cloud cat owners," feel tempted. Even tough guys found it hard to resist. Some netizens commented, "Kids make choices, but I want them all."

Barely a month after launching the Spring Cat series, Luckin Coffee seized the momentum and introduced five new "laser cups" in mid-May. Luckin Coffee incorporated its distinctive business blue into the cups, making them appear both luxurious and fashionable yet refined and enduring.

It can be said that Luckin Coffee was particularly active in April and May of this year. The Spring Cat series and the Laser series were launched less than a month apart. Just 11 days after the Laser series was released, Luckin introduced its "Summer Party" series. Pool Party Mugs, Creative Flip-Flop Mugs, Glass Cups That Aren't Soda Cans, Coconut Breeze Glass Cups, Cool Summer Double-Layer Ceramic Cups, Sweet Cherry Straw Cups, Refreshing Summer Portable Cups... every item in the "Summer Party" series exuded a casual summer atmosphere.

It seems that Luckin Coffee, known as the "Chinese Starbucks," has discovered Starbucks' secret to success and started selling cups, capturing people's hearts with exquisite designs. Do you have any cups from Luckin Coffee in your collection?
