Among the more than forty species of coffee plants in the world, only three have become commercially consumed coffees: Arabica, Robusta, and Liberica. The coffees people typically drink are mainly Arabica and Robusta, with Arabica being the most important variety in specialty coffee.

Arabica coffee beans grown at low latitudes and high altitudes are more likely to develop beans with thousands of changing flavors, which is why Arabica beans are more commonly found in specialty coffee. Typica coffee beans are one of the oldest varieties under Arabica, from which other varieties such as Java, Maragogype, and San Ramon have evolved. It can be called an ancient divine beast, the first-generation Hokage! Or it's like how Sun Breathing extended into Water Breathing, Wind Breathing, and Stone Breathing.

Characteristics of Typica Coffee Beans

The characteristic of Typica is that the coffee tree is relatively tall, with bronze-colored leaves at the top, and the coffee beans are large and elongated, somewhat like eggs. Typica coffee beans often have a lemony acidity with a sweet aftertaste, and are praised by many as elegant and clear coffee beans. Unfortunately, Typica is harvested only once every two years, and its disease resistance is very poor, making it difficult to resist leaf rust, berry disease, Coffee berry disease, and nematode diseases, resulting in very scarce production.

If Typica is grown within 5 degrees north or south latitude, it is recommended to plant it at high altitudes above 1600 meters for the best flavor; if it's within the range of 5-15 degrees north or south latitude, it's best to plant it above 1300 meters; for latitudes exceeding 15 degrees, it's also recommended to plant it at least above 1000 meters.
