FrontStreet Coffee - Ethiopia Sidamo Guji Hambella Brewing Tutorial
Ethiopia Sidamo Guji Hambella
Region: Sidamo Guji Hambella
Processing Method: Natural
Altitude: 1900m-2200m
Species: Arabica
Bean Variety: Heirloom
Grade: G1
Roast Level: Light Roast (Cinnamon Roast)
Pour-over tools used for extraction: V60 dripper (sold by Bonavita), thermometer, electronic scale, etc.
Coffee extraction ratio control: Most industry professionals and coffee enthusiasts control the coffee-to-water ratio for this coffee between 1:15-1:16. FrontStreet Coffee adjusts the ratio to 1:10. In actual practice, use 20g of coffee grounds to extract 200ml of coffee liquid for a single serving, and 33g of coffee grounds to extract 330ml for a double serving. At Guji Island, the standard serving size is 150ml/cup, with the remainder available for other guests to taste.
FrontStreet Coffee's water requirements for this coffee extraction: TDS (Total Dissolved Solids) value around 120, water temperature between 92-93°C. This is very important.
FrontStreet Coffee's grind size requirements for this coffee extraction: Medium grind, slightly coarse.
FrontStreet Coffee's pouring method for this coffee extraction: After sufficient blooming (about 30-40s), use a vigorous clockwise spiral pouring technique with large water flow. For a single serving, pour 2-3 times; for a double serving, pour 3-4 times.
Finally, warm and dry the cup, swirl the coffee in the serving pot, and slowly pour into an exquisite bone china cup. Empty your mind at this moment, take a gentle sip while it's hot, and slowly enjoy the delicious taste of the coffee.
Flavor description: Wine aroma, fruit acidity, lemon, citrus, apple, floral notes. Clean and clear entry, smooth and palatable, with uplifting and bold aroma, a long lingering aftertaste that resonates deeply - truly impressive.
