The giant island of Sumatra was known as the "Spice Islands" in ancient times. Sumatra is Indonesia's main coffee-producing region, and Sumatran coffee is named after "Mandheling." The Lintong region is located on Sumatra Island, renowned for its distinctive characteristics of richness, body, and sweet aftertaste.
Mandheling green coffee beans may appear unattractive due to the characteristic "wet-hulled" processing method used in the region, which causes many cracks in the green beans. However, Mandheling is considered "the world's most mellow coffee." Mandheling is suitable for dark roasting, with low acidity, rich aroma, and mild, fragrant fullness. Traditionally, its distinctive bitterness highlights a unique sweetness.
Pour-over Brewing Recommendations: Water temperature 88°C, 15g coffee grounds, 30g hot water for bloom, second pour to 210g total, brewing time 1:50 seconds
