Ethiopia is known as the birthplace of Arabica coffee. Today, all Arabica coffee worldwide originates from Ethiopia. Coffee is also an important source of economic income for Ethiopia, contributing over 60% of foreign exchange earnings. More than 15 million people depend on coffee for their livelihood.

Its unique floral and citrus flavors are widely loved, making it one of the hallmarks of specialty coffee.

Ethiopia has a vast territory with significantly different geographical environments. The eastern part is dry desert, while the southwestern part is tropical rainforest. Ethiopia has a high altitude, with an average elevation of 2,500-3,000 meters, earning it the nickname "Roof of Africa." The highest point reaches 4,533 meters. The Great Rift Valley runs through Ethiopia.

Ethiopia exclusively produces Arabica beans. They believe this protects the pure production of Arabica beans, and laws explicitly prohibit importing Robusta beans to avoid species contamination.

Yirgacheffe

Coffee from this region has an incredibly unique flavor. Washed coffees from Yirgacheffe carry explosive floral and fruit aromas, rich citrus and floral notes, with a light and elegant mouthfeel. For many people, these coffees taste more like Earl Grey tea than coffee - definitely worth trying. This region also produces natural processed coffees with unique and delicious flavors.
