As we all know, Ethiopia is the homeland of coffee, and the origins of most Arabica coffee beans in the world can be traced back to Ethiopia. At the same time, it is the world's seventh-largest coffee producer and the largest coffee producer in Africa, with a production of 260,000 tons in 2006. Local coffee consumption accounts for half of the total production, showing that the country leads other African countries in domestic consumption.

Coffee is Ethiopia's most important export economic crop and the main source of foreign exchange income. Ethiopia's coffee exports account for approximately 3% of the world market share, making it the world's eighth-largest coffee exporter.

Located between 3 and 14 degrees north latitude, Ethiopia has a coffee cultivation area of nearly 600,000 hectares. Ethiopia's coffee growing regions are divided into eastern and western parts by the Great Rift Valley of East Africa. The soil in the west and south belongs to volcanic rock, rich in minerals and slightly acidic. The average annual temperature ranges from 15 to 25 degrees Celsius, creating an excellent growing environment for Arabica coffee. The south and east have two rainy seasons each year, while the west has only one. Due to the different distribution of rainy seasons, Ethiopia can harvest coffee throughout all four seasons.

Ethiopia: Located in northeastern Africa, it is the famous birthplace of Arabica coffee beans, where people still maintain the tradition of harvesting wild coffee beans. Coffee plantations at elevations exceeding 1,500 meters have formed a unique coffee terroir through more than a thousand years of evolution and adaptation. Ethiopian coffee grown in natural wild environments is known as "wilderness coffee," preserving the most primitive and natural flavors of coffee beans. It offers the most direct and complete expression of terroir, resulting in exceptionally outstanding coffee quality.

Washed Yirgacheffe beans possess an extremely rich aroma, full of citrus and floral notes, with a delicate and elegant mouthfeel; natural processed beans, on the other hand, have exuberant fruit aromas, offering a unique and delicious taste.

Among Ethiopia's 9 major coffee producing regions, Sidamo and Yirgacheffe are the most outstanding. Yirgacheffe was originally a sub-region of Sidamo but was separated due to its special flavor characteristics. Its rich and complex fruit aromas made it an overnight international sensation, becoming a sought-after favorite among connoisseurs with a premium price tag.
