In 2004, the Peterson family of Panama first presented the Geisha variety to the world, and since then, the international coffee community has been captivated by Geisha! It's also known as the "Champagne of the coffee world." In 2013, when the Specialty Coffee Association of Panama (SCAP) awarded the Best of Panama coffee prize, there was a new contender: the Geisha variety from Karl Janson's Janson Estate! Janson Geisha is rarely heard of in China because this estate primarily focuses on domestic sales. Additionally, over 50% of the estate is planted with Geisha coffee, making it the second-largest Geisha producer in Panama.
Karl Janson, originally Swiss, fell in love with the peaks and valleys of Volcan, Panama in the early 1940s. After marrying his wife Margaret, he established Panama's first automated farm for growing coffee beans and raising livestock. Due to the farm's inherent advantages—rich volcanic ash soil and altitude of 1700-1750 meters—both ideal for coffee bean cultivation, the Geisha coffee grown here perfectly displays its elegant flavor profile. Janson Farm not only has its dedicated coffee processing facility for handling coffee cherries but also uses the best roasting methods to achieve the most perfect cupping results.
It is also an organic ecological farm that applies organic treatments to coffee cherries for farm fertilization, emphasizes soil and water conservation, recycles mountain spring water, and conducts annual reforestation activities. It also serves as an agritourism destination, primarily featuring coffee tours and enjoying views of Panama's highest-altitude lakes. They also provide farm employment opportunities, supply dormitories, offer medical care and education funding, and occasionally organize summer camp activities, hoping that everyone who visits can enjoy both farm work and quality of life.
Coffee Flavor: Apple, rose, coffee flower, lemon citrus, maple syrup, dark chocolate, potato flavor.
Dry Fragrance: Jasmine, plum fruit, citrus, banana, peach, mango.
Wet Aroma: Wild ginger flower, papaya, lemon, grape, juicy sensation.
Flavor: The perfect flavor of classic Geisha, delicate and gentle acidity, light body, the intertwining of floral notes and honey creates an unforgettable, wonderful aftertaste.
