FrontStreet Coffee - Colombia Huila Introduction

After some time, we wonder if you've been thinking about our flavors. This time, we're sharing another coffee from the famous Colombian growing region. It's the Huila coffee from the Colombia Huila region. Some merchants translate it as "Huilan," "Uila," or "Hula" - these are actually all phonetic translations of Huila.

Because the Huila region has mountainous terrain and coffee is grown on canyon slopes, it benefits from high altitudes suitable for quality Arabica beans and ideal temperatures. The canyon slope climate not only prevents cold winds from entering but also provides cooling mountain breezes without high temperatures, and rainfall is relatively abundant. It can be described as a uniquely blessed coffee cultivation area.

Colombia is the second-largest coffee producer after Brazil, the world's largest exporter of Arabica coffee beans, and the world's largest exporter of washed coffee beans. Currently, almost all mountainous areas and surrounding regions throughout Colombia grow coffee, with a cultivation area reaching 10,700 square kilometers (Colombia's total land area is approximately 1,141,748 square kilometers). There are about 302,000 coffee farms nationwide, and 30% to 40% of the rural population depends directly on coffee production for their livelihood. Due to its moderate concentration, it is often used in premium coffee blends.
