FrontStreet Coffee - El Salvador Honey Process Pacamara

Many people may not have heard of El Salvador coffee. It comes from the small South American country of El Salvador. Compared to other coffee varieties, coffee from this region has a light body, is aromatic, pure, with slight acidity. Its flavor characteristic is excellent balance, making it a specialty of Central America. It possesses equal characteristics of acidity, bitterness, and sweetness. The optimal roast level is medium to dark.

In El Salvador, the coffee beans produced in the Cuscatlán region are the most superior. They are slightly lighter in weight, aromatic, pure, with slight acidity. Like Guatemala and Costa Rica, El Salvador coffee is graded by altitude - the higher the altitude, the better the coffee. The best brand is Pipil, whose quality has been recognized by the American Organic Certification Association. Another rare coffee is Pacamara, a hybrid variety of Pacas and Maragogype coffee. The best production area is located in western El Salvador, adjacent to Santa Ana near the Guatemalan border. Pacamara coffee beans are full and plump, but the aroma is not particularly strong.

Common Varieties

Bourbon, Pacamara, Pacas, Typica

Honey Process El Salvador

Past El Salvador coffees have consistently shown stable, balanced nutty, cocoa, and creamy notes. It wasn't until brewing that I realized I had underestimated this particular bean. Black tea, fig, honey, with a full and clean texture - as it cools, it increasingly approaches the sweet, rich flavor of ripe figs. Truly amazing.

Pacamara beans have an exceptionally appealing appearance, being fuller and rounder than other varieties (except for Maragogype, which is its parent). In terms of flavor, it has lively acidity, excellent balance, and performs remarkably well in both body and mouthfeel.
