FrontStreet Coffee - V60 Pour-Over Coffee
In today's ever-evolving coffee world, pour-over coffee is gaining popularity among baristas, enthusiasts, and café customers alike, as it better showcases the inherent flavors of coffee itself. This time, we'll introduce you to the most commonly seen and classic pour-over device—the V60.
The 60-degree cone shape extends the time for water flow to pass through coffee grounds toward the center. The spiral ribs allow air to escape around the edges, enabling better coffee expansion. With a large hole at the bottom, the flow rate is quite fast. This dripper features exquisite design and high popularity. Since extraction doesn't require too much time, it's more suitable for brewing coffees with fruity, acidic, and fresh characteristics. As for fuller-bodied coffees, it's not unsuitable—the essential flavors are still properly preserved, but highlighting fruity and acidic notes remains its greatest strength.
In many professional competitions, the V60 is a frequently chosen contender, making it an essential product to have.
Brewing Instructions
First, wet the filter paper with hot water to warm the cup, then place medium-ground coffee in the filter. We can use 12 grams of coffee as a standard. First, pour about 10-12 grams of water over the coffee surface to perform the blooming process.
Fresh coffee beans will begin to expand at this point. The blooming time can be considered between 15-30 seconds, with everyone adjusting their blooming time according to different beans and personal taste preferences.
After blooming, we begin pouring water, starting from the center in circular motions the size of a 1-yuan coin, gradually adding water to 90 milliliters. Then we perform a second pour, again in circular motions, to rinse all the coffee grounds. When 150 milliliters have dripped through, stop pouring and immediately remove the dripper, regardless of whether there's still liquid in it.
Tips for Success
1. Since the V60 has higher requirements for water flow control, more practice is needed to extract a delicious cup of coffee.
2. We recommend using the Kalita bronze宫廷 narrow-spouted kettle, which provides a finer water flow, is easy to use, and allows for better water flow control.
