FrontStreet Coffee - Bolivia Coffee Introduction

They help coffee farmers master better cultivation techniques; they help coffee farmers use better machinery and equipment; they educate growers to cultivate high-quality coffee beans under conditions of social responsibility and economic sustainability. It is precisely this kind of positive guidance and assistance that has led to the rise of specialty coffee in Bolivia in recent years.

2017 was the first production year of this program, and the yield has already doubled, reaching about 20 bags per hectare. At the same time, the program has grown from the initial ten participating farmers to more than 50 now.

As Daniela Rodriguez said:

"We are giving them the tools and know-how, but they are actively choosing to follow our advice and invest in their farms. Now they can see the results, they trust us 100% and helping their neighbours achieve similar results."

Pedro Rodriguez has been engaged in coffee cultivation in Bolivia for over 30 years and is one of the pioneers of Bolivia's specialty coffee industry. In 2012, he founded Agricafé coffee company to guide local specialty coffee cultivation, and operates it together with his daughter Daniela Rodriguez and son Pedro Pablo Rodriguez.

Agricafé owns and operates 12 original coffee farms, the state-of-the-art Buena Vista washing station and Cupping Room, as well as a thriving dry milling and export business near La Paz. They have also successfully connected local small-scale farmers with high-value specialty markets through the Sol de la Mañana program to achieve win-win cooperation goals.
