Colombian Coffee (Café de Colombia) originates from Colombia and is one of the few single-origin coffees sold worldwide under a country name. Colombia possesses superior geographical and climatic conditions for coffee cultivation. Its coffee is characterized by excellent quality and delightful flavor. After roasting, the coffee beans release a sweet fragrance and exhibit fine characteristics of acidity with sweetness and balanced bitterness. Colombian coffee emits a subtle and elegant aroma, unlike the intense flavor of Brazilian coffee or the acidity of African coffee, presenting instead a gentle sweet fragrance that is understated and refined.

Thanks to its superior geographical and climatic conditions, Colombian coffee has consistently maintained high quality. Typically, Colombian coffee beans without special market brand names come from the National Federation of Colombian Coffee Growers, a massive federation spanning Colombia, known for strict quality control and active promotion.

In Colombia's coffee bean grading system, Supremo is the highest grade, representing the largest and fullest premium coffee beans in Colombia, with minimal defective beans and impurities. Excelso, on the other hand, consists of smaller, more common-grade beans. Colombian coffee exhibits balanced flavor, rich acidity, unique flavor characteristics, relatively full viscosity, and sometimes carries admirable fruit notes. A small portion of Colombian coffee comes from old varieties like Typica or Bourbon, generally branded by their estate name or processing factory.

Colombian Huila is located in southwestern Colombia and is one of the main coffee cultivation regions. Because famous coffee cultivation areas are spread throughout the Huilan region, the names of various small areas have become brand names in circulation. The Huilan region features mountainous terrain, with coffee grown on mountain valley slopes, providing high altitude ideal for quality Arabica beans and suitable temperatures. The climate of the mountain valley slopes not only prevents cold winds from entering but also enjoys cooling mountain breezes without high temperatures, and rainfall is relatively abundant - making it an exceptionally advantageous coffee cultivation area.

Colombian coffee is renowned for the perfect fusion of acidity, bitterness, and sweetness, with a fragrant and balanced mouthfeel. Huilan beans perfectly exemplify Colombian coffee characteristics. The coffee from the Huilan region features nutty, chocolate, and caramel aromas, wonderful and refreshing fruit acidity that is neither ostentatious nor dull, with a soft and smooth mouthfeel. Colombian coffee workers manually harvest coffee cherries on mountains, allowing for careful selection of the most mature and plump fruits. Additionally, most coffee beans undergo washed processing. When brewed after medium roasting, they offer a light, silky mouthfeel, sometimes with a hint of acidity, earning them the reputation of "green gold" in Colombia.

Knowledge Point: Coffee from Colombia's Nariño region is named "Colombian Nariño" because it originates from this specific region.
