How is the Quality of Cubita Cuban Coffee Beans - Cuba's Cubita Coffee World-Renowned Premium Specialty
FrontStreet Coffee - Introduction to Cuban Crystal Mountain Coffee
In Cuba, the harvesting of coffee beans is predominantly done by hand. During the ripening period, coffee beans are harvested approximately every two weeks. During or after the harvesting process, the coffee beans are sorted, removing unripe and defective beans to ensure coffee quality. Cubans typically use two methods to process coffee beans - the natural (sun-dried) method and the washed method. The natural method is the simplest, most affordable, and most traditional coffee processing method, which involves drying coffee cherries under sunlight without fermentation. The drying process typically takes around four weeks. The washed method allows more fruit flavors to penetrate the coffee beans, thereby adding a coarse fruit aroma to the coffee.
Currently, Crystal Mountain coffee is extremely precious. This is mainly due to two reasons. The first reason is the economic sanctions imposed by the United States on Cuba, which restricts imports of Cuban goods. The second reason is that most Cuban coffee beans are now acquired by French and Japanese markets, especially Japan, making it difficult to directly purchase coffee beans from Cuba today. Despite this, the status of Cuban coffee in the hearts of global coffee enthusiasts remains comparable to Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee.
Crystal Mountain coffee beans are typical island beans with a clean and delicate taste, featuring a slight acidity that is not strong but persistent, accompanied by a sweet melon and fruit aroma. Coffee brewed from these beans possesses a rare and perfect flavor: aromatic bitterness with a rich, smooth, and mellow mouthfeel. It contains a slight wine-like bitterness and a subtle sweetness, with even a faint hint of smokiness, delicate and smooth, refreshing and elegant. The numerous flavors blend together in near-perfect harmony.
Cubita is Cuban coffee, primarily exported to markets in Japan, France, Germany, Ireland, Canada, and other countries. All Cubita coffee entering the Chinese market is selected from pollution-free Crystal Mountain coffee beans grown in high-altitude regions of Cuba, representing typical Caribbean coffee beans. All coffee beans are strictly selected according to the 17-19 mesh screen standard, resulting in large-sized, high-maturity coffee beans. Cubita is entirely hand-picked and processed using the washed method, which largely eliminates defective beans and other impurities.
All Cubita is produced from coffee grown in the pollution-free Crystal Mountains of Cuba's high-altitude regions. Crystal Mountain is geographically adjacent to Jamaica's Blue Mountains and has similar climatic conditions, making it comparable to Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee. Crystal Mountain is also known as "Cuba's Blue Mountain."
