If you love coffee, you've probably heard of the French press. This brewing device may have various different names and patents from different regions, but what are the origins and historical development of this device? And how is it used to brew coffee?
How to Brew Coffee with a French Press?
1. Grind coffee to coarse consistency (reference: the coarseness of brown sugar)
2. Coffee-to-water ratio of 1:15 (for example, 20g of coffee grounds with 300ml of hot water)
3. Water temperature of 94°C (if you don't have a thermometer, let boiling water rest for about 2 minutes)
4. Add coffee grounds and hot water to the French press in sequence
5. Stir (or don't stir - it's up to you)
6. After 3-4 minutes, slowly press down (gently and softly)
7. Pour coffee into a cup and enjoy
You can try adjusting water temperature and coffee-to-water ratio to experience different coffee flavors~~
Knowledge Point
