Sumatra Mandheling is a premium coffee bean grown on highland plateaus at altitudes of 750-1500 meters. The most famous coffee-producing regions in Asia are the islands of the Malay Archipelago: Sumatra Island, Java Island, and Kalimantan Island. Among these, the Sumatra Mandheling coffee produced on Sumatra Island, Indonesia, is the most renowned.

As we all know, Mandheling is produced in the area around Lake Toba in northern Sumatra. The finished product has a unique fragrance of herbs and forest. There are really many names for Mandheling on the market: Golden Mandheling, Supreme Golden Mandheling, Tiger Mandheling, Horse-face Mandheling, and Emerald Mandheling, mainly distinguished by different regions and green bean merchants.

Tiger Mandheling is produced in the Lake Tawa area of Aceh Province, Sumatra Island. Lake Tawa is located in the Gayo mountainous area of northern Aceh Province, Sumatra. Indonesia, which straddles both sides of the equator, has a humid tropical rainforest climate with abundant rainfall, and fertile volcanic soil provides rich nutrients for coffee. However, due to its remote location and inconvenient transportation, coffee was not cultivated until 1924, mostly using traditional shade-grown, pesticide-free organic cultivation methods.

Tiger Mandheling

Only Mandheling with 17 mesh or above and a defect rate below 4% can be called Tiger Mandheling. It has lemon and citrus acidity in taste, with a spicy and herbal aroma.

The Mandheling from Tiger Manor has very large beans of 18 mesh, with plump particles and rich flavor. Tiger Manor is also a famous estate in the Lindong producing area. The estate was named after this because Indonesian tigers once appeared near the manor.

Indonesian Tiger Manor uses the wet-hulled method, with a default medium-dark roast. It is low in acidity, rich and mellow, with aromas similar to osmanthus and grass jelly. It is rich in the mouth with a pleasant aftertaste.

Knowledge point: Mandheling from the Lindong region basically belongs to the pure Arabica variety.
