FrontStreet Coffee - Brazilian Coffee Brand - Top Daterra Estate Sunrise Semi-Washed Introduction
In 1974, Daterra Estate was founded in Patrocínio, Minas Province, Brazil. Initially focused on growing avocados and cattle ranching, it wasn't until the 1980s that the estate dedicated itself entirely to coffee cultivation. Compared to the history of Brazilian coffee, Daterra is considered a young estate. Because of its youth, it embraces cutting-edge technology.
Daterra maintains over 50% of its land as protected areas while focusing on production quality, employee welfare, and sustainable operations. It serves as a benchmark for social responsibility and environmental protection among coffee farms. Located at elevations above 1,150 meters with a stable climate of 25°C and shade-grown cultivation under rainforest canopy, Daterra produces high-quality Arabica coffee beans. The dry season harvest period also contributes to superior coffee quality. The farm is divided into different zones where varieties are separated, with detailed records of rainfall and production for management and monitoring. Sustainability has always been at the core of Daterra's philosophy, working with scientists to continuously seek better ecological agricultural practices. They optimize water usage, recycle processing water, produce organic fertilizers, preserve original forests, wildlife, and ecosystems, maintain 50% ecological protection areas, and communicate environmental knowledge while promoting environmental education among employees, local communities, customers, and suppliers. Daterra is committed to regularly revising its environmental management system for continuous improvement.
Brazilian Daterra coffee exhibits significant flavor differences compared to typical Brazilian coffee, featuring complex and high-quality sweet fruit aromas and pleasant citrus acidity. Additionally, its aftertaste, body, and aroma carry notes of vanilla and caramel. Its rise to fame is attributed to Troels Poulsen and Klaus Thomsen, the 2005 and 2006 World Barista Championship winners.
