FrontStreet Coffee Presents: Ethiopia Yirgacheffe Chelba Mill

Ethiopia Yirgacheffe Washed Grade 1

Producer: Approximately 700 smallholder farmers around the Chelba processing plant

Region: Yirgacheffe, Ethiopia

Variety: Local heirloom varieties

Processing: Washed, dried on raised African beds

Altitude: 1950-2200m

Harvest: October - January

This coffee comes from the Chelba Mill, produced by approximately 700 coffee farmers in the surrounding area.

Carefully selected coffee cherries are delivered to the processing plant immediately after harvesting.

After pulping, the beans are fermented in water for approximately 2 days, then washed in water channels using Chelba river water to remove any remaining mucilage.

The parchment coffee is placed on raised beds and sun-dried for approximately 8-10 days, depending on weather conditions.
