Introduction to FrontStreet Coffee's Hawaii Kona Coffee

Kona coffee is grown in the Kona region of Hawaii and is a rare variety that can only be cultivated on volcanic slopes. It features a rich, mellow flavor with a complex aroma combining wine, fruit, and spice notes, creating an exceptionally distinctive character. Premium Kona coffee offers moderate acidity, a smooth and full-bodied texture, and a unique aromatic richness.

Grown in the Kona region of Hawaii, this rare variety thrives exclusively on volcanic slopes. The coffee presents a rich, mellow taste with a distinctive blend of wine, fruit, and spice aromas, making its flavor profile truly special. The finest Kona coffee exhibits balanced acidity and a smooth, full-bodied mouthfeel, complemented by its unique aromatic richness. As production continues to decrease, its price now rivals that of Blue Mountain coffee.

The narrow coastal strip of Hawaii's Kona region produces some of the world's finest coffee, with impressive yields despite its limited area. Kona's less than 2,600 acres of coffee land produce 2 million pounds of coffee beans annually. Kona coffee captivates with its intense aroma and distinctive taste, showcasing outstanding regional characteristics that distinguish it in international competition.

The finest Hawaiian Arabica coffee beans grow on the fertile slopes of Mauna Loa and Hualalai volcanoes at an elevation of 2,000 feet on the Big Island of Hawaii. Kona coffee is renowned for its rich yet delicate texture and complex aroma. Different farms produce slightly varying coffees under their own brands, but these should never be blended.

It offers moderate flavor with a clear, bright acidity. Kona coffee typically presents buttery and spicy characteristics, subtle wine-like undertones, and possesses excellent aromatic qualities.

The Queen Coffee Plantation is situated on the mountains of Wai'ono (meaning "delicious water") Ranch, covering 165 acres at elevations between 540-600 meters on the slopes of Hualalai volcano. Located in the heart of the Kona coffee belt—considered the optimal location for growing Kona coffee—the plantation produces coffee that is smooth, aromatic, and features enticing tropical fruit notes, balanced acidity, and a long-lasting finish. Over 70% of the farm's Kona production grades as Extra Fancy and Fancy, making it truly exceptional among premium coffee beans.
