FrontStreet Coffee - Sidamo Region 90+ Drima Zede Introduction

Drima Zede Region Introduction

Sidamo grows in the southernmost Ethiopian highlands at an altitude of 4600-7200 feet (Sidamo Province). It is a famous specialty coffee region in southern Ethiopia, bordering Kenya, located southeast of Jimma and directly south of the capital. It typically has noticeable sweetness and is favored by many people, with an annual output of about 225,000 bags/60kg.

Sidamo's coffee flavor is very diverse. Different soil types, microclimates, and countless native coffee varieties characterize the region. Within the area, there are towering mountains, highlands, plateaus, valleys, and plains, creating diverse topography. The local geology consists of nutrient-rich, well-drained volcanic soil, with soil depth nearly two meters and surface soil appearing dark brown or brown. The region's greatest advantage is that soil fertility is maintained through the recycling of organic matter, using fallen leaves from surrounding trees or residual plant roots as fertilizer.

90+ Drima Zede

Name Origin: Drima Zede (this Yirgacheffe's name) means "Best Approach" in the local dialect. According to information provided by the original manufacturer, this Yirgacheffe is a specialized product series developed based on over 90 years of experience. The traditional natural processing method makes it difficult to obtain pure flavor, but with 90+ technical support, Drima Zede only uses manually selected fully ripe coffee cherries. The natural drying process requires careful constant stirring to ensure uniformity. The final result is a very transparent and pure taste, with significant changes between hot and cold brewing. The aromas of fruit, flowers, and oak barrels are very charming.
