FrontStreet Coffee's Green Label batch (Single Terroir) is still one of the main series of green beans released under the name 'Geisha Village Estate', and it is also the most affordable among all main series. The Green Label series is originally expressed as Single Terroir, concisely pointing out the focus of this series. Like all products in the main series, the Green Label series still has complete 'variety' and 'planting block' traceability information, hence it is called Single Terroir.
In the internal grading system of Geisha Village Geisha coffee, the Green Label batch still possesses the characteristics of the variety and terroir in terms of flavor, but it is considered slightly weaker in flavor than the Gold Label and Red Label batches during internal cupping. But this is the key point. As we know, flavor preferences vary in different markets, and when conducting internal cupping for grading, the timing is still relatively early, and many potential beans have not yet fully realized their potential.
According to the scoring mentioned above, the goal is to achieve the full score of 90 points as much as possible. (And some beans might have a full score of 70 points, while others might have 100 points).
And why is it said that roasters can roast out their own unique characteristics? This is certainly possible. Just like Pu'er tea doesn't all taste the same, even without mentioning the vintage, people will talk about which hall produced it. Wuyi Mountain tea also doesn't all taste the same. Therefore, roasters can express their own style during the roasting process through different roasting curves and machine professionalism.
And it's also possible that beans with a full score of 90 points end up being roasted to only 10 points. The roasted coffee might have defects - it could be over-roasted and produce bad flavors; or it could be that before roasting, there wasn't a proper check for defective beans, moldy beans, or foreign objects other than beans... all of which could greatly reduce the flavor of the roasted product, and in severe cases, the entire batch could fail.
