Monte Carlo Estate in El Salvador is a coffee certified by C.A.F.E. Practices. El Salvador boasts rich natural landscapes, with volcanic terrain being its most distinctive feature. The volcanic terrain extends in all directions without being shared with other estates, which means the estate is actually situated on a private volcano.
Originating from a coffee estate located in a volcanic crater, the coffee trees grow in a pattern surrounding the crater. The volcanic terrain provides excellent growing conditions for coffee trees, including fertile soil and high altitude. The crater is shrouded in clouds and mist year-round, creating a microclimate exceptionally suitable for coffee tree growth. Coffee cultivation at high altitudes and on steep slopes creates the most ideal growing environment. The rich volcanic minerals and deposited volcanic ash in the soil contribute to the unique flavor expression of the coffee. The coffee trees at Monte Carlo Estate in El Salvador are pure Bourbon varieties, characterized by stunning flavor and rich aroma display. Monte Carlo Estate processes coffee using the washed method, employing clean water sources, traditional techniques, and strict control of every processing step, treating the coffee with care. The static fermentation process varies depending on weather conditions, but generally requires 15 hours of resting, followed by thorough sun-drying of the coffee.

Among these, the three most famous volcanoes—Cerro Verde, Izalco, and Santa Ana—converge to form a volcanic complex. Monte Carlo Estate is located in the premier coffee-producing region—the Apaneca area. Monte Carlo Estate is also the only coffee estate within this region. As we know, the volcanic terrain extends in all directions without being shared with other estates, which means the estate is actually situated on a private volcano.
Coffee Bean Label Information: The label's inspiration comes from coffee trees growing around the volcanic crater. Excellent drainage and fertile volcanic soil allow coffee to grow in the best environment. The label incorporates numerous topographic and soil maps, representing different types of terroir, altitude, and texture through volcanic bird survey maps. The vibrant color palette is inspired by traditional Salvadoran clothing and wildlife.

Water Temperature: 90°C
Grind Size: Fuji Royal R-440 grinder setting 3.5
Brewing Method: Water-to-coffee ratio 1:15, 15g coffee grounds. First pour 25g water for a 25-second bloom. Second pour to 120g water, then pause. Wait until the water level in the coffee bed drops to halfway, then continue pouring slowly until reaching 225g total water. Extraction time approximately 2:00.
Analysis: Using a three-stage brewing method to clearly distinguish the front, middle, and back-end flavors of the coffee. Because the V60 has many ribs and drains quickly, pausing during pouring can extend the extraction time.
