If you didn't miss Willem Boot's excellent lecture at the coffee exhibition in November 2016, you would surely be deeply impressed by his winding journey as a coffee farmer and his Gesha root-seeking expedition. The arrival of this coffee bean has been long anticipated.

Estate owner Adam Overton is an American documentary filmmaker, while his wife Rachel Samuel is Ethiopian and a photographer. In 2007, the couple was commissioned to Ethiopia to shoot a documentary about coffee. As filming progressed and they had deeper contact with the land and people of Ethiopia, their dream of establishing their own estate began to sprout.

Everything made breakthrough progress after they met Willem Boot. Even the estate location selection, variety selection, and processing methods are closely related to Willem Boot. To this day, Willem Boot still leads groups to visit annually and stays at the estate to handle coffee post-processing.

2016 was only the second harvest season for Gesha Village Estate.

This batch uses the same wild Gesha variety from the green canopy of Gori Gesha Forest, processed using the natural method. Slightly different from the traditional Ethiopian natural processing method, under Willem Boot's professional advice, Gesha Village's natural processing method adopts Panamanian natural processing techniques. Even the materials for the raised African bed drying frames were imported from Panama.
