FrontStreet Coffee Colombia Single Origin - Cauca Cup of Excellence
Colombia Villarrica Estate
■ Country: Colombia
■ Estate: Villarrica Estate
■ Region: San Agustin
■ Varieties: Caturra and Variedad
■ Processing: Washed
Cupping Report:
This farm is located in the high mountains of San Agustin at approximately 1,670 meters above sea level, mainly cultivating the Caturra and Variedad varieties.
They use very traditional processing methods. Most farmers still use hand-operated depulpers, traditional washed processing with overnight fermentation, and then dry the beans on racks. It's also common to see coffee drying on rooftops. The batch we found is incredibly balanced, representing top-tier Colombian coffee.
This Colombian coffee leans toward a dark, rich aromatic profile with surprising sweetness. The dry aroma features wild honey and spices. After adding hot water, the wet aroma reveals caramel, honey, apple, and candy notes. In the cup, it exhibits "very dark sugar" characteristics - super sweet with sugarcane fragrance. Despite being intense, it's remarkably smooth and delicate with excellent body. The creamy chocolate has both strength and gentleness, complemented by dark-toned melon and ripe fruit flavors - absolutely captivating! Truly a shame to miss this exceptional coffee!
