Who is Manlaojiang?

Manlaojiang Coffee originated from a poverty alleviation project in Pu'er, Yunnan that began in 1997. It relocated Lisu ethnic farmers trapped in deep mountains to 150,000 acres of original ecological organic forest along the Manlaojiang River to engage in environmentally friendly farming. Today, through the diligent labor of 3,000 Lisu farming households, the coffee grown has obtained American and European organic certifications. It has successively become a member of the Specialty Coffee Association of Europe, the Specialty Coffee Association of America, and the Cup of Excellence. It is the first Chinese coffee to simultaneously hold American, European, and Chinese organic product certifications, achieving full traceability from organic coffee cultivation, processing, production, to roasting and reaching specialty standards. It has become a member of the world's specialty coffee community.

The original ecological coffee cultivation environment greatly protects the original biodiversity within the planting area, maintaining balanced development among forests, rivers, springs, coffee, other crops, and pastures within the coffee cultivation zone. Manlaojiang Organic Coffee insists on using organic coffee cultivation and processing methods. In Pu'er, Yunnan, it has established two drying grounds - Manzhongtian and Naji - with 12,500 acres of conventional coffee gardens, 1,500 acres of organic coffee gardens, a 100-acre rainforest coffee experimental base, variety gardens, and field laboratories. It has two coffee fruit washing and processing plants, one coffee dehulling and sorting processing plant, and warehouses. From cultivation, primary processing, drying, to storage, Manlaojiang Coffee strictly follows the standards of the Specialty Coffee Association of America (SCAA), with every batch of green beans reaching SCAA specialty coffee level.

Thanks to natural environmental blessings, the plateau's abundant sunlight, well-preserved rainforest, and naturally flowing mountain spring water have endowed this estate with natural spirituality. Farmers throughout adhere to organic cultivation principles, with no chemical additives in irrigation, fertilization, or pest control. Roaster Ari Re applies exquisite roasting techniques, combined with personal imagination and inspiration, to develop novel and unique flavor combinations.
