Regional Introduction:

Narino province in Colombia is located in the southwestern part of the country, 640 kilometers from the capital Bogota. It borders Ecuador to the south, Cauca province to the north, Huila province to the northeast, Putumayo province to the southeast, and the Pacific Ocean to the west. This area boasts magnificent mountain ranges and beautiful scenery, with many rivers flowing through the region toward the south. It belongs to Colombia's high-altitude coffee cultivation zone and has nurtured numerous specialty coffees.

Cultivation and Processing:

Narino possesses natural conditions for producing high-quality coffee. Located near the equator at approximately 1 degree north latitude, it receives abundant sunshine throughout the year. Most of the area is situated at altitudes above 1,600 meters, and snow-capped peaks are not uncommon within its borders. The rugged mountains and long, steep slopes create temperature diversity. Warm, moist air currents rising from the canyons protect high-altitude coffee cultivation from frost threats, allowing coffee to be successfully grown at altitudes of 2,300 meters. Volcanic soil provides rich nutrients for coffee growth.

Fine Processing:

The Narino region in Colombia is predominantly composed of small-scale farmers. After coffee harvesting, the beans undergo washed processing. Following treatment with mechanical pulping machines, they are placed in containers for fermentation periods ranging from 12 to 18 hours. They are then washed and dried. The drying method involves sun-drying on curved raised beds.

Flavor Profile:

Almond, white chocolate, nectarine, caramel, creamery, high sweetness, excellent balance (more suitable for single origin brewing).
