Introduction to Ninety Plus Coffee
Ninety Plus Coffee is a green coffee company, hereinafter referred to as (90+).
Ninety Plus is a world-renowned coffee bean production and sales company, famous for providing rare and unique green coffee beans. In addition to directly working with coffee farmers, they also own a 134-hectare coffee estate in Panama. Founded in 2007, their customers now span over 40 countries worldwide.
Why is 90+ So Popular?
In recent years, 90+ has become an essential topic in the specialty coffee circle. Why has 90+ become so popular?
Simply put: All coffee cupping scores must be above 90 points to be released, which is the main reason why the company is called 90+!
Every bean is carefully selected, with SCAA cupping scores all above 90 points. This is an extremely difficult score standard to achieve. This might sound somewhat abstract, so let me give you some conceptual understanding of these scores:
According to SCAA definitions:
Coffee beans below 80 points do not belong to the specialty coffee grade.
Coffee beans between 80-85 points belong to the general specialty coffee grade.
Coffee beans between 85-90 points belong to the premium grade. Normally, these are already quite impressive specialty coffee beans. Many COE competition (Cup of Excellence) top five coffee beans fall into this grade.
Coffee beans between 90-100 points belong to the specialty rare grade. All products from 90+ Company fall into this category. Every bean exceeds 90 points, even reaching a brilliant record of 97 points, writing one of the most talked-about chapters in coffee history.
NPGE Estate and Exclusive Varieties
In 2009, 90+ Company established the NPGE Estate in Panama, exclusively growing the most prestigious Geisha coffee, along with a strong research and development team.
They established exclusive techniques different from other processing plants, marking an important historical watershed in the coffee world. After several years of cultivation results, NPGE Estate has launched five Geisha varieties: Lycello, Perci, Juliette, Silvia, and Lotus.
Among these, Perci has also released upgraded versions: Perci Red (Red Process) and Perci Ruby, creating different variations of Perci's sweetness. Silvia and Lotus are the latest products using the new SK processing method.
