The History of Tanzanian Coffee

In the early 16th century, coffee was introduced to Tanzania from Ethiopia, but it wasn't until the late 19th century that coffee was promoted by German missionaries.

Tanzania has a total of 11 coffee-producing regions, and when it comes to Tanzanian coffee, Mount Kilimanjaro coffee is undoubtedly the most famous. Only the Arusha and Moshi regions can be considered Mount Kilimanjaro coffee.

Today's featured coffee - Tanzania Changga - comes from the Moshi region and belongs to the Mount Kilimanjaro coffee category.

The Changga People

The name of this premium coffee is to express respect for the local Changga people. It is precisely the diligence of the Changga people that gives us the opportunity to taste this rich and wonderful coffee.

The Changga people have lived on Mount Kilimanjaro for hundreds of years, and they deeply love this land.

Tanzania Changga coffee mainly comes from two small-scale cooperatives: Marangu East and Miwiko North.

Each small farmer is very careful and meticulous in processing their own coffee beans.
