What is Drip Bag Coffee?
The coffee powder used in drip coffee is ground from freshly roasted coffee beans. Drip coffee can maximize the preservation of coffee's original flavor and is typically extracted with hot water.
Because there will be coffee grounds, a filter bag is necessary!
Who Invented the Drip Bag?
When it was first invented, it was actually a luxury item!
It had been a full 9 years since the invention of drip bag coffee. In 2001, Japan's UCC Ueshima Coffee Company invented drip bag coffee and registered a patent, then launched it to the market. In Japanese, it's called "one-cup extraction type coffee." This is because its principle involves placing coffee powder in a filter bag made of non-woven fabric or cotton paper, with two paper clips on the outside. When opened, it can be hung on a narrow-rimmed cup, and after brewing, you can simply pull it out to enjoy aromatic black coffee.
About Filter Bag Material
The material used for drip bags is called biodegradable non-woven filter fabric.
The inner lining of the drip bag has a filtering layer with mesh-like holes that help regulate the speed of coffee flow.
When hot water seeps through the coffee powder, it extracts its essence and oils, and the final coffee liquid seeps out evenly through the filter holes.
Grind Size: Based on this design, the grind cannot be too fine, approximately the size of sugar crystals.
There's also a type of bag coffee on the market similar to tea bags. It's made by grinding freshly roasted coffee beans and packaging them by cup portion into disposable filter bags, creating convenient coffee packets. The material is similar to tea bags - mostly non-woven fabric, gauze, etc. This material requires soaking.
How to Prepare Drip Coffee
When you open the coffee bag, you can smell the coffee aroma, which indicates freshness.
After flattening the drip bag, tear open the powder packet seal.
Evenly spread the drip bag and hang it on the rim of the coffee cup.
Drip bag coffee must be hung up for brewing!
Here's an important point - drip bags also require a proper coffee-to-water ratio. For example, one 10-gram drip bag with 150ml of water. It's better to use a relatively shallow cup.
Water Temperature
Since friends who drink drip coffee might not have access to freshly boiled water or a way to measure temperature, water from a typical water dispenser (83-90°C) will suffice. If the water is too hot (over 95°C), pour it into another cup and wait 30-60 seconds before brewing.
First Infusion - Blooming
Pay special attention to the first infusion for blooming. Simply put, let the water wet all the coffee grounds first, then stop pouring and wait 10-40 seconds to open the door to the coffee's flavor.
Tear, hang, brew, and remove - four simple steps complete the process.
A warm, aromatic cup of coffee is ready!

Compared to coarse fiber foods, coffee is a faster and gentler laxative that helps eliminate stool buildup. It's effective for at least one-third of people, with women being more noticeably affected. Studies have found that just 4 minutes after drinking coffee, intestinal movement begins to strengthen.
Key Point: This effect of promoting gastrointestinal motility is strongest in the morning and becomes very weak at night.
