Antigua Coffee Bean Flavor Characteristics
Guatemala coffee beans are grown under exceptionally favorable conditions, with ideal altitude, soil, and climate that can produce complex and delicate coffee.
Its most famous volcanic region coffee is the Antigua coffee growing area, which has a slight smoky flavor, unique fruit aroma, and slightly blue-green raw bean color. Each bean is hand-sorted, with a unique flavor that shows slight acidity, making it a distinctive Central American coffee bean.
Antigua, this first-class growing region, has volcanic soil, similar to the Tarrazu region in Costa Rica. Antigua's coffee is grown on the volcanic slopes about an hour's drive from Guatemala City. Compared to Costa Rica, it better preserves its own characteristics, mainly because it has more microclimates than Costa Rica, and climate strongly influences bean characteristics.
Its acidity, sweetness, and texture are perfectly harmonious, with a perfectly rounded flavor, plus a hint of smokiness that further emphasizes its depth and mystery. In short, some people are willing to drink only Guatemalan coffee for their entire lives.
