Coffee Origin and Processing

The coffee beans grown in Ethiopia's most primitive forest, the Kafa Forest, are part of the wild forest ecosystem. They grow naturally under the protection of mountain and rainforest trees, where fallen leaves and branches serve as the best natural organic fertilizer. The Kafa Forest contains large wetlands along steep valleys, with towering mountains and undulating plains. The special volcanic terrain is known as the continental rift valley.

In the local area, there are 26 small cooperatives with approximately 4,166 farmers. Coffee is grown at altitudes between 1,500-3,350 meters in mountainous regions. Local farmers process coffee cherries using natural methods.

Cupping Notes and Flavor Profile

During the cupping process, FrontStreet Coffee's Kafa Forest displays distinct wild ginger flower aromas in the dry fragrance. As you smell deeper, various fruity acidic notes gradually emerge, including blackcurrant. What's particularly remarkable in the wet aroma is the sensation of smelling a beverage full of fresh milk, which left a deep impression.

In terms of flavor profile, the first sip is quite refreshing, but the second sip immediately releases prominent fruit acidity that glides across the palate. Both sides of the tongue immediately begin to water, creating a sensation similar to drinking Yakult. The aftertaste shows good sweetness and the flavors are quite persistent. When tasted cold, it carries additional nutty notes and Calpis-like flavors.
