The Origin of Mexican Coffee
Mexican coffee beans are said to have been introduced to Mexico at the end of the 18th century, when a Spaniard transplanted coffee trees from the West Indies. Outstanding Mexican coffee beans offer a comfortable mouthfeel, mellow flavor, moderate acidity, gentle refinement, and pleasant aroma.
Mexico has 12 major coffee-producing regions. Nayarit, located in west-central Mexico near the Pacific Ocean, has been cultivating coffee for over 150 years, beginning in 1860 when a French immigrant family started cultivation. Here, coffee is grown at altitudes of 1200-1500 meters. This mountainous region consists largely of volcanic areas with volcanic ash soil. The high altitude and fertile volcanic soil nurture coffee beans with a smooth mouthfeel and moderate acidity.

Mexico's Coffee Industry
Mexico ranks as the third-largest coffee producer in Latin America, following Brazil and Colombia. Mexican coffee bean production increased significantly after World War II. Besides oil, coffee is the second largest export commodity locally, having a tremendous impact on Mexico's national economy.
The coastal windward side of Nayarit is influenced by northeast monsoons. Due to abundant rainfall, fertile volcanic soil, and plentiful water resources, this batch of Nayarit's Mi Cielito sun-dried coffee cherries is carefully processed using the natural drying method, preserving the most original aroma and flavor of the raw beans.
Mexico is also one of the largest producers of certified organic coffee. Due to geographical factors, most coffee is exported to the United States. The country's coffee industry began in the 19th century, with predominantly Arabica varieties being cultivated. Over two million Mexicans depend on coffee for their livelihood. 75% of Mexico's small coffee farmers cultivate coffee on land smaller than two hectares. These small farmers produce approximately 30% of the country's annual coffee production, while the remainder is produced by large or higher-capacity farms.

This group of 10 coffee farmers began cooperating in 2008, focusing on cultivating coffee using sustainable methods to protect the environment, the quality of life of the coffee farmers themselves, and even the communities where they live. They collectively farm approximately 40 square kilometers of land in the Veracruz region. They work diligently to cultivate coffee, hoping that each variety they grow will showcase the most unique and attractive characteristics. To achieve this goal, they adopt solid farming practices during the cultivation phase, select only the most mature coffee cherries during harvest, and use very rigorous standards for selection during raw bean processing.
