Fazenda Boa Vista Estate

Fazenda Boa Vista is located in the town of Dom Vicoso within the Mantiqueira de Minas mountain region in the southern part of Minas Gerais state. The estate covers approximately 100 hectares, with coffee cultivation accounting for 40 hectares. The altitude ranges between 1,150 and 1,450 meters, with an average altitude of 1,186 meters.

In 1880, the estate founder Mr. Custodio Teodoro Ribeiro de Carvalho established Fazenda do Rosario at this location and began coffee cultivation and livestock farming. In 1952, Mr. Custodio's daughter, Maria Aparecida Carvalho Ferraz, and her husband inherited the estate's management. Due to the magnificent views from their location, they renamed the inherited farm Fazenda Boa Vista.

Starting in 1975, Fazenda Boa Vista officially transitioned to a farm specializing in coffee cultivation. At that time, the two main varieties grown on the estate were Catuai and Mundo Novo. Since 1986, the current third-generation heirs, the Ferraz brothers, began joining the team and taking responsibility for coffee production-related work. The Ferraz brothers started with extensive variety cultivation testing, continuously seeking methods to improve coffee quality. Additionally, they enhanced employee training and applied innovative technological equipment to assist. Besides coffee cultivation, the coffee post-processing plant within the estate is also one of the key factors for quality improvement. Due to the efforts of the Ferraz brothers, Fazenda Boa Vista's coffee quality shows continuous improvement year after year.

Fazenda Boa Vista combines various favorable conditions including geographical location, terroir climate, and cultivation techniques, thus producing high-quality green coffee beans. In addition to coffee cultivation, the Ferraz brothers manage the estate with sustainable business philosophy. They protect the springs and rivers flowing through the estate by expanding forest vegetation areas, and have planted many diverse native fruit tree species that are endangered within the estate grounds.
